It’s called the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, but it’s so much more than what you’d typically imagine when hearing the word museum. It’s also a zoo, botanical garden, art gallery, natural history museum, and aquarium! I’ve gone twice now, and have yet to see it all, making it one of my favorite places in Tucson to explore and return to.
Thanks to a tip from Tucson blogger Cactus Haiku, I’m headed to my local branch of the Pima County Public Library to investigate their selection of Culture Passes. Life doesn’t always take you down familiar roads or to happy places. Sometimes you end up on a highway with a lot of potholes and no rest stop in sight. This year, I found myself on one of those unexpected trips, driving away from the salty sea air and into the dusty desert for what would be and still continues to be, the beginning of a transformational period of my life.
